About Adirelounge

At Adirelounge
We have modernized the technical grain textile by integrating technology, design and empowerment to strengthen financial inclusion in rural Nigeria.
Established in 2017
Adirelounge Empowerment Initiative is a social enterprise with a vision to promote indigenous textile prints in Nigeria

Since inception, we have trained over 500 women and youths on sustainable best practices of the Adire textile design in three communities in Lagos.

Empowering women and youths to be skilled artisans and improve their standard of living.

To inspire creativity, preserve and promote awareness of the Nigerian textile heritage.
Who we serve
We primarily serve women and youths in underserved communities. Other target beneficiaries are urban youths interested the arts and culture.

H.A.C.E Program
Heritage and Art Community Empowerment equips women and youths in underserved community to be skilled textile artisans.
2018
AdireDay School Program
Educate private/public secondary school students (aged 13-20) on the art of Adire making, showcasing key techniques all in a day.
2019
Water Hyacinth Up-cycling Program
Controlling the nuisance caused by water hyacinth in riverine areas; Converting them to sustainable natural fibers that are up-cycled into useful environmental products.

We have been able to partner with rural communities via our empowerment initiative “The Adirelounge Empowerment Initiative” to train and empower these women and youth in these communities.

These women and youth define prosperity as going beyond financial well-being to include happiness and good health. They achieve prosperity by creating and selling unique, handcrafted products of the highest quality.
