Adire Lounge Empowerment Initiative was established in 2017 as a social enterprise with a vision to promote indigenous textile prints in Nigeria by providing skills, inspiring creativity and creating awareness using women and youths in underserved communities.
Since inception, we have trained over 80 women and youths on sustainable best practices of the Adire textile design in three communities in Lagos. Our objectives are driven along these operating platforms: Awareness, arts and culture, eco-friendly sustainable practices, research and entrepreneurship/employability.

Who we serve
We primarily serve women and youths in underserved
communities. Other target beneficiaries are urban youths
interested the arts and culture.
Awareness and Education
What we do
As an initiative, we are involved in several programs focusing mainly on arts and culture, entrepreneurship/employability and environment.
H.A.C.E (Heritage and Art Community Empowerment) Program:
This program equips women and youths in underserved community to be skilled textile artisans, able to produce the best quality indigenous prints by providing them with the skills necessary to tackle unemployment and revive the dying heritage of indigenous textile prints. The program’s training duration is 6 weeks.
The AdireDay School Program:
This program is aimed at secondary school students (Private and public) between the ages of 13-20. The goal is to create awareness and education on the art of Adire making. Its duration is for a day..
Water Hyacinth Up-cycling Program:
The aim of this project is to control the nuisance caused by the water hyacinth in riverine areas and convert them to sustainable natural fibers that are up-cycled into useful environmental products. The program’s duration is six months..
