Traditional Adire Black and Yellow Cotton fabric by the yard is hand dyed by artisans in our small workshop in Nigeria.
Are you looking for fabrics for your next projects? This 100% Adire fabric is perfect for sumptuous sewing projects, home décor accents, and more! Made in Nigeria by the Adire people, this multicolored fabric features batik designs.
Adire Textiles are hand dyed; slight variations in color and design can be expected from one fabric to another. Variations have been included in the pictures to show you how each fabric will be slightly different.
The artisans who made this color are part of a community we’ve been helping with vocational training since 2019. Good fabrics, specially handmade ones, are rare and expensive in Nigeria, and these artisans have developed a rich textile tradition that stretches back centuries. Each piece is dyed using a technique unique to their region, using naturally-processed indigo or plants like okpeye that turn indigo a variety of bright hues. This piece is made by the Adire women in the Yoruba west area, which are the only Boko Haram-free parts of the region where many other women operate from.
This fabric is 1 yard.
Kindly note: it will come in a long stretch of 5yards.
